Appraisal clause demand letter.

Almost every auto policy contains an appraisal clause that binds the insurer to a neutral valuation process when you and they disagree on your car's pre-accident cash value. Most policyholders don't know it exists. This tool generates a properly-formatted demand letter invoking that clause.

Source: Property Damage Gap §7.3. When the gap between the insurer's offer and your evidence-based number is greater than ~$1,500, you're typically money ahead.

The exact required language for invoking the appraisal clause is in your policy. This template uses the customary phrasing, the standard 20-day window for appointing appraisers, and the 50/50 umpire-fee split documented in most US auto policies — confirm the specifics against your policy document before sending.
