Nobody told me how to actually GET my police report — is this normal?

A few things worth knowing: (1) you're entitled to a copy as a party involved in the incident, usually for a small fee, (2) some states have a specific public-records request process separate from the department's general line, and (3) third-party services like LexisNexis or certain court-record sites sometimes have reports before the department's public portal is updated.
